Preparing for Moving Day

There are lots of things you require when you move, not all of them may be super obvious, and some of them are not necessarily needed by all people. For this purpose, we’ve put together a short list of the most important moving supplies and moving gear you’ll need to think about getting for the next big move. This doesn’t necessarily mean the most expensive, but rather the essentials. For example, having a large moving truck is only necessary if you don’t have someone else to transport your possessions for you, or if you don’t have a very large home to move it – and these are two separate situations. If you do have one, then the truck will come in handy for hauling household furniture and appliances and smaller household items. It can also be used for quite a few other different types of moving requirements.

Moving Boxes – One thing that most movers will agree on is that you really need to invest in good boxes to store all of your supplies. Good quality boxes will protect all of your materials from damage, even the slightest spill, so make sure you get boxes made from strong plastic that won’t break easily. If you’re going to use a moving supply store, make sure they stock boxes of every size to match your moving needs. If you pack your moving supplies incorrectly, you could end up having to spend a lot of time moving everything back to your original place, or worse yet, wasting your time and energy on trying to get everything back to the right place. If you don’t have the right packing boxes, then your entire move could be useless. Make sure you pack all of your supplies correctly so that nothing is left behind. Use boxes for your moving supplies that fit the size of your boxes. This way, you won’t have to stack things on top of one another or risk damaging the boxes or anything else. There are plenty of different kinds of boxes available to choose from; choose the ones that are made specifically for moving, or ones that are designed to transport just about anything. These are also great boxes to use for heavy items such as books and furniture.

Packing Material – If you’re trying to move your home with nothing but your stuff and no one to carry it, then packing material is vital to your move. There are many different kinds of packing material, from bubble wrap to Styrofoam, and you’ll need to think about what’s best for you moving. Some people like to have more control over their moving supplies, so another way of doing this would be to use packing tape to seal up boxes and keep them in good shape. Make sure you use the right packing material for your new home!

Moving Markers – Moving supplies checklist items such as tape, markers, and chalk are very useful. You’ll be able to mark everything on your moving supplies checklist so you know where to start. Markers are great because they can be erased afterwards, or you can write on them if you want to use them again. Chalk is also a great tool for marking your progress. It’s also good for writing down any comments or questions you might have.

The last thing you need is a problem with your supplies while you’re moving. This happens to the best of us at some point. Avoid this by making a plan for what you need, when you need it and where you need it to go. Make sure you follow this plan all throughout the move. You can use boxes, tape, markers and chalk to help you stay on track.

At the end of your moving day, before you unpack everything, take a minute to throw away any excess packing materials. This will make your life a little easier later on. When packing your boxes, it’s important to use as much plastic as possible. If you want to use other packing supplies, you should purchase a packing tape, marker or chalk to use in your clean up.
